Drug company Novartis is being sued by 27 state governments, several cities and the U.S. federal government in not one but two lawsuits, according to the New York Times. The millions of dollars involved in these bribes and kickbacks to doctors makes one wonder how many, many doctors must have been involved. Here’s one of the lawsuit affidavits in full obtained by ProPublica (see related post). This previous successful lawsuit from its female employees provides an interesting overview of some of the practices of Novartis’ sales representatives, e.g. Novartis female sales reps were expected to be amenable to unwanted sexual advances from doctors.
